News: "These are the times that try men's souls.  The summer soldier
and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the
service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the
love and thanks of man and woman."

-- Thomas Paine (The American Crisis, No. 1, 19 December 1776)

I've got my eye on government ...

« on: September 14, 2010, 08:16:30 AM »

In just the past few weeks, the rate at which new members are joining the Liberty's Price forum has been picking up substantially!  Since we've been around for about five years and have been through our ups and downs, the questions is "why now"?

Well, personally I think that many, many people are becoming more active in forums, in meetings and in the political arena in general.

We've had enough of big government, power cliques, secret maneuvering and the abuse of the average citizen's liberty and pocket book.  We're tired of being taxed to death for more and more socialist "spread the wealth" plans by BOTH of the major political parties and we're ready for a genuine change.

That change must, inevitably, take one of two forms:  either we will summon the energy and determination to find, prepare, elect and support candidates who will revolutionize our governmental structure at all levels using the tools and methods the Founders gave us - peacefully, or; at some point there will be unrest, increasing civil disobedience and possibly violence in the streets.

It's my fervent hope that we can do this peacefully, so let's all get off our buts and make it happen!

Well, I won my race for NC State House, and it all started here -- someone on these forums introduced me to Ron Paul early in 2007 and that got this whole mess started.  lol

Fantastic!!!  One more victorious soldier for the cause ... I, and I'm sure all of us, wish you a very successful and satisfying experience as you begin your trek into the jungle of entrenched politicians.  I'm sure it won't be easy and I have just one bit of advice:

Always remember why you took this step and act accordingly.  It's far better to be a one-term elected and still have your integrity than to opt for extending your tenure at the expense of your reputation.

All the best from all of us!!!
